Over the last 24 hours, I was honored to have chatted with Joe DiBernardo, Deputy Chief FDNY, Ret., South Bronx/Harlem Commander. Chief DiBernardo is the father of Joe P. DiBernardo, one of the six FDNY brothers who perished nine years ago today on "Black Sunday."
Chief DiBernardo would like our help in spreading the word about the Lt. Joseph P. DiBernardo Memorial Foundation, formed in honor of his hero son. The Foundation helps to raise money for fire departments across America in need of personal life ropes and life safety training.
